Welcome to a new TGIF Challenge! We have an extra Friday this month, so it’s a bonus challenge to design simple gift sets. Designing simple cards isn’t something I usually do, but I immediately thought of the Meandering Meadows 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. It’s so pretty, I feel like all I need to do is glue it on a card base and add a sentiment. For these cards, I added a couple more steps, but not much.
I used a classic technique to pop-up a focal point on each card with the Countryside Corners Dies. (I was so happy to see these dies returning in the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog as they’re a favorite of mine.) Typically, I would cut a slightly larger die-cut from the base color (in this case Blueberry Bushel) but it was too big and covered too much of that pretty DSP. So instead, I cut the same size die and adhered it slightly askew, then popped-up both die-cuts with double Dimensionals.
Did you notice the card base? It’s a new color called Basic Beige coming in the 2024/2025 Annual Catalog. There’s also coordinating ink and ribbon! I LOVE the color!!!
To finish the card, I watercolored a Paper Butterfly Accent and added a Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine bow and a few sequins. Easy peasy!!!
The second card is the same, just a different sheet of that gorgeous DSP and coordinating colors.
While the DSP has been available for a while, I see small touches of Basic Beige in the painting! Interesting how that coordinates!
