#TGIFC586 — Inspiration Challenge with the Wild Bunch

By | July 17, 2026

Hello and Happy Friday! For this week’s TGIF Challenge, we have the inspiration photo below. I can’t say I have many farm or animal related products, but I did grab the Product of the Month in June which was the Wild Bunch Stamp Set. It has adorable little sketched animals, and I thought it would be perfect for my grand-niece and grand-nephew’s birthdays coming up. They both love animals. I asked my sister what the soon-to-be three-year-old’s favorite animal was, hoping it would be a cow. Alas, it’s penguins, so she got some penguins on the inside of the card! Ha! Then, I used the other two animals in the set to create a card for her little brother who’s turning one.

Every month, Stampin’ Up! ® introduces a new Product of the Month. You may purchase them for $5.00 with a qualifying purchase of $75.00 USD until they sell out. While unfortunately the Wild Bunch is now sold out, both the May & July Products of the Month are still available. Be sure to check them out each time you make a purchase.

For the animal images on my two cards, I stamped them with Basic Black Hybrid ink and then colored them with Stampin’ Blends Markers. You can see a list of the colors in the Supply List below. Also, there was no coordinating die set to go with the Wild Bunch, but it was fairly easy to fussy cut them all.

For this first card, I took a lot of inspiration from the photo including the general layout and colors.

In the background, I used a Blending Brush to add Balmy Blue ink to the sky. Then, I stamped the corn with Granny Apple Green ink. I also tore strips of Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green Two-Tone Cardstock to create the grass area. By layering a few of the corn images, I gave the scene some depth.

Next, I used the Fragrant Layers Dies to cut out the small flowers and leaves from Basic White Cardstock and colored them with Hydrangea Hue, Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends Markers.

I stamped the presents with the Wild Bunch stamps in Hydrangea Hue, Daffodil Delight, and Poppy Parade ink and then colored some of the stripes with the light matching Stampin’ Blends Markers.

On the inside, we have her penguins – three of them marching to wish her a big Happy Birthday and send some love.

The number 3 (and 1 for the card below) are from the old retired Large Numbers Framelits Dies. (That’s a blast from the past, but they’re great numbers for projects like these!)

My second card is for the soon-to-be one-year-old. The little koala bear is perfect for him! After coloring the image with Gray Granite, Smoky Slate, a little Basic Black, and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends, I felt like it needed a little more blending. So I used some watercolor pencils (Basic Gray, Basic Black, and White) to soften the color transitions. I love pairing watercolor pencils with Stampin’ Blends Markers! It’s a great way to add detail, especially fur for animals.

I changed up the layout of this card a bit and added strips of Hydrangea Hue Two-Tone Cardstock in the background. For some of the strips, I dry embossed them with the Paradise Garden Hybrid Embossing Folder and for others, I stamped the sketched checkerboard image from the Wild Bunch stamp set with Hydrangea Hue ink. (The Basic White strip is stamped off once for a lighter tone.

The white leaves are cut with the Fern & Flora Dies and the rectangle with the Nested Essentials Dies.

The greetings on both cards are from the Wild Bunch stamp set. I die-cut them with the label from the Fragrant Layers Dies. That die was a little small for the Happy Birthday sentiment, so I used a partial die-cutting method to lengthen the banner.
