#TGIFC592 — 2026 In Colors with Fragrant Layers

It’s time for a new TGIF Challenge! This week, our theme is the “2026 In Colors.” I absolutely love the In Colors for this year, so this was a super easy challenge for me. Plus, I had been needing to make a wedding card for my daughter right around the time I was preparing for this challenge. I knew her wedding colors included lots of soft peaches, oranges, and pink tones, so Barely Blush and Crisp Cantaloupe worked perfectly!

I poured my heart into this card. It’s a super special one and it includes lots of my favorite things: including the Fragrant Layers Bundle, hot foiling, two-tone paper, and watercoloring to name a few. In fact, to accommodate the large Botanical Glow Hot Foil Die and coordinating stamp, I made the card over-sized (5″ x 7″.) I knew I was going to hand deliver it, so I also decided to make a custom envelope.

My project also includes a sneak peek of the new Softly Woven 3D Embossing Folder in the background. It’s a large one making it easy to cover the entire front of the over-sized card base. I love the beautiful texture this embossing folder adds to the project!

I started out by hot foiling the Botanical Glow Die on a piece of Barely Blush Two-Tone Cardstock. (I had originally meant to hot foil the light side, but accidentally placed the wrong side down and ended up hot foiling the dark side.) Afterwards, I stamped the large leaf image with Barely Blush ink. Then, to enhance the outlined leaves, I watercolored with a mixture of Whisper White Craft Ink and a little water. I needed to go over the areas several times, and then I added highlights with a White Gel Pen.

For the flowers, I heat embossed them in gold on Very Vanilla Cardstock. Then, I made some extra single flowers so I could curl and pop them up. I love cards with lots of layers and dimension. Afterwards, I watercolored the flowers with both Barely Blush and Crisp Cantaloupe ink, the leaves with Mossy Meadow ink, and then added highlights with a White Gel Pen.

To break up the light colors of the flowers from the background, I added Fragrant Layers die-cuts from Crisp Cantaloupe Two-Tone Cardstock. Next, I added some of those darling tiny flowers from the same set and cut from the light side of Very Vanilla Two-Tone Cardstock.

The sentiment is from the Simply Beautiful Stamp Set die-cut with the label from the Fern & Flora Dies.

Then, on the inside of the card, I used some Sweetly Sentimental Hot Foil Dies to bring in those gold elements again.

To accommodate the over-sized card with multiple layers, I created an envelope measuring 6″ x 8″ from Very Vanilla Two-Tone Cardstock along with a matching belly band. The belly band did not quite wrap around the whole envelope, so I added a label cut with the Beautifully Celebrated Dies.

Tips: Use Tear & Tape Adhesive to attach the two ends of the belly band on the back of the label so it’s very strong and will withstand lots of manipulating when opened and replaced. Also, wrap the belly band around the envelope after the card is placed inside. That way, the belly band isn’t too tight.

The decorations for the belly band are fairly simple. I just added some Playful Alphabet die-cuts from Very Vanilla and Gold Foil. The Very Vanilla ones are watercolored with both Barely Blush and Crisp Cantaloupe ink.
