Wedding Tags with Fragrant Layers

By | August 23, 2026

My daughter wedding was yesterday! She’s been planning every little detail for over a year. One of the things she asked me to do was make hanger tags for the morning Bridal Suite. She gave beautiful negligees to all the bridesmaids, moms, and some close family/friends, and she wanted hanger tags.

My daughter’s style is very clean and elegant. So she gave me a color combination of Very Vanilla, gold and green.

I started by downloading the font she used on her wedding invitations and printed out the names in a gold color on Very Vanilla Cardstock.

Then, to create the tags, I cut two rectangles measuring 5″ x 2-1/2″ from Very Vanilla Cardstock. Afterwards, I rounded the corners with a corner rounder punch I had in my stash and dry embossed the top rectangle with the Peaceful Greenery 3D Embossing Folder (retired.) That embossing folder coordinates with the Peace On Earth Dies (retired), which I used to die-cut the names and Gold Foil labels.

To form the rectangles into a tag, I die-cut one more large label from Very Vanilla Cardstock and used half of it to “sandwich” between the two rectangles at the top. Then, it was just a matter of punching a small circle using the Hole Punch Assortment and adding a Gold Foil reinforcer. (Tip: Use a pencil to mark the center of the tag and then feed the punch through the tag upside down and center the pencil mark inside the hole.)

To decorate the tags, I created flowers using the Fragrant Layers Dies. I cut them from the light side of Very Vanilla Two-Tone Cardstock so there was a slight variation in color. Then, I placed the die-cuts on a Stampin’ Pierce Mat and used a stylist ball from the Take Your Pick Tool to gently shape and curl each flower before gluing them together with Mini Glue Dots and/or liquid glue. (Tip: Let the liquid glue dry so it becomes tacky and it’s a lot easier to pick up those tiny pieces to layer.) Lastly, I die-cut the Mossy Meadow Two-Tone leaves with the Peace On Earth Dies.

The moms got a few more details since my style is a little less simple. I added more flowers and some Antique Pearls.

Of course, I had to make a tag for the bride as well! When I asked my daughter what she wanted, she asked me to surprise her, but added that she wanted it to say her new name and maybe could I add some color and make it extra special? Therefore, I used the colors of her wedding to watercolor the Very Vanilla Two-Tone flowers. Colors included Crisp Cantaloupe, Barely Blush, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, and a little Timid Tiger.

The tops of all the tags include some Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon that I had in my stash. They will easily slip over the tops of the hangers.

Creating projects like this gives me so much joy. I feel like I contributed something extra special and I know my daughter loves it.

Have a wonderful day!
