Hello and welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for April 2024. This month, our color combination includes Parakeet Party, Granny Apple Green, and Calypso Coral. This combo makes me think of Spring and new growth. Looking through my stamp stash, I noticed the perfect set to go with this combo — Planted Paradise! It’s one I haven’t used before and it was so much fun!!!

Planted Paradise is a reversible stamp set, which means you can use both sides of the photopolymer stamps to create detailed or fill images. There’s also a big variety of leaf and pot images, and even some macrame ones to build holders! So cute!!!
Since I was trying to limit myself to the two greens in the color combo, I did a few tricky things for some color variation. For some of the images, I inked up the stamp with Parakeet Party and then used a Sponge Dauber to add Granny Apple Green ink directly to the stamp for shading before stamping on Basic White. For others, I simply stamped with one color or the other. But then, I decided to try adding both Parakeet Party and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Markers to the stamped images! I love the end result!
Another fun technique I used on this card was clear embossing the pots! I started by stamping one pot with Calypso Coral ink and one with both Petal Pink and Calypso Coral ink. Then, I sponged shading on the edges to make the pots appear round. Finally, I heat embossed the entire pots with Versamark ink and clear embossing powder to make them look shiny! Fun!!! Lastly, I added Cork Rounds to the smaller pot for texture.
