#TGIFC462 — Color Challenge

By | March 1, 2024

Welcome to a new TGIF Color Challenge! This month, we’re using a color combination of Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, and Lemon Lolly … all soft, subtle colors. I decided to break out the Everyday Details Stamp Set. You’ve probably noticed me using the coordinating Everyday Details Dies a lot; they are one of my current favorites. But this is the first time I’ve used the stamps.

I stamped the images with Stazon ink on Basic White Cardstock and then watercolored them with the challenge colors, along with Soft Sea Foam for the leaves. Basic White Cardstock is a little more challenging to watercolor than Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. My tips are to paint in small sections, try not to use too much water, and lay down the color quickly.

On the Basic White die-cut circle, I watercolored a wash of Balmy Blue. Once it was dry, I added splatter with a dark Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend Marker, and then I dry embossed the whole die-cut with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.

To create the banners, I used the Basic Borders Dies to cut the bottom edges. Then, I layered them both over a layer of Basic White Cardstock that I had dry embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.

The final touches included a Balmy Blue and White Variegated Ribbon tied across the top and some Highland Heather Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.
