Stamping Sunday Blog Hop — Holiday Table

By | December 13, 2020

Hello and welcome to the December Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This month, our theme is Holiday Table. How fun is that? I can’t wait to see what all the designers come up with! One of my favorite things about the holidays is the decorations, and that includes a beautiful table.

I designed three projects for my Holiday Table: 1) a simple napkin holder, 2) decorated candles for a centerpiece, and 3) gifts for the place settings. This year, there will only be three of us for Christmas including my husband, daughter, and I. But that’s OK. Small gathering or large, it’s still Christmas.

Simple Napkin Holder:

I tied my napkins with some gold/burlap ribbon from Costco and then designed a simple tag. The tag features North Pole Wonder and Forever Flourishing die-cuts attached with Gold Cord.

Since my china and napkins are fairly colorful, I decided on a neutral color palette, accented with metallic papers. The Brushed Metallic Cardstock was perfect for this project, because it comes in three colors: bronze, copper and gold.

Table Gifts:

For each place setting, I also created Mini Pizza Box gifts. I LOVE how elegant these turned out! This time, I used the Arrange A Wreath Bundle, including the Arrange A Wreath stamps and Wreath Builder Dies.

For each box, I cut three wreaths — one from Very Vanilla Cardstock, one from Vellum, and one from Brushed Metallic Cardstock. Then, I layered those over some Plush Poinsettia Specialty Designer Series Paper for a soft look.

The Gold Pizza Boxes were a little bright when compared to my plates, so I added a layer of gold Brushed Gold Metallic Cardstock on the top of each box to tone it down.

Next, I cut two poinsettia flowers from Shimmery White Cardstock and watercolored them with Crumb Cake ink in the center. Then, I curled them with a bone folder. Finally, I added lots of gold sparkle (because who doesn’t love sparkle for the holidays, right?) That included Gilded Gems, Gold Glitter Enamel Dots, and some frayed Gold Cord.

I think all the gold looks beautiful with my place setting, don’t you?

Candle Centerpiece:

In the center of my table, I have numerous vanilla flameless candles. For this first one, my original idea was to emboss a layer of Brushed Metallic Cardstock with the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder that measured 10″ long so I could wrap it around the entire candle. Unfortunately, I quickly realized that the embossing folder folded on the side and not the top, so I improvised and embossed a layer measuring 5″ x 6″ and then attached it to another strip of cardstock that wrapped around the entire candle.

I added a North Pole Wonder stag die-cut from bronze Brushed Metallic Cardstock and some pretty ribbon and Voila!

For another candle, I wrapped the embossed layer with Braided Linen Trim and added a tag similar to the napkin ring above.

I kept the rest of the candles fairly simple, wrapping them with Plush Poinsettia and Wonder of the Season Specialty Designer Series Paper. (Again, the large wired ribbon is from Costco.)

Hope my projects inspired you. I’d love to hear what you think, so please leave a comment below. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to continue on through the rest of the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop for even more inspiration.

Wishing you Happy Holidays!!!

Tami, your projects are lovely! All of the gold makes them seem extra festive. I think the embossed candle wrap may be my favorite — the simple elegance. But, it’s followed closely by the gold pizza box with all of it’s jeweled berries.
