Pop of Petals for Easter

By | March 24, 2019

Happy Sunday! I have a quick post today so I can enter the color challenge at the Global Design Project the week. I told myself at the beginning of the year that I was going to try to participate more in these challenges, and this is the first one this year! OK, better late than never, right? (Ugh, too many things to do and too many commitments. Haha!)

The challenge this week is to use the following colors: Grapefruit Grove, Lemon Lime Twist, and Daffodil Delight. These colors are great for Spring, and in fact they are perfect for Easter!!! Since I haven’t made one Easter card yet, I decided to use this challenge as inspiration!

UPDATE: Wahoo! I’m a winner!!!

I don’t have any Easter specific stamp sets, so I decided to pull out an oldie but goodie — Pop of Petals. This is a great stamp set, because it coordinates with the Four-Petal Flower Punch, making it super easy to stamp and cut lots of flowers for layering.

I stamped the main flowers with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then colored with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Markers. For the centers, since Stampin’ Blends Markers don’t come in Grapefruit Grove, I used a Blender Pen to pick up a little Grapefruit Grove ink. This coloring technique looks very similar to the markers.

I stamped all the images on Whisper White cardstock, and to add a little interest and make my card look more “Eastery” (that’s a word, right?), I used the Basket Weave Textured Impression Embossing Folder for the background behind the flowers.

My greeting is a combination of a “happy” die cut from the Well Written Framelits Dies and an Itty Bitty Greeting.

Be sure to click over to the Global Design Project and see all this week’s entries using this color combination.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and hope you have time to stamp:)
