Color Fusers Blog Hop — 7 Days of Christmas

By | November 7, 2022

Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for November 2022. This month, we have some festive colors including Pumpkin Pie, Poppy Parade, and Shaded Spruce. I think they would work for either Fall or Christmas-themed projects. But I’m on a mission to make lots of Christmas cards right now, so I decided to go in that direction. 🙂

7 Days of Christmas : Day Six — I’m posting another two-fer today as this qualifies as my sixth project.

My card features the new Framed & Festive stamp set and coordinating Framed Florets Dies from the new Fitting Florets Collection (163129)! This collection is available to purchase right now! It includes the early release Framed Florets Bundle (162407) (including the Framed Florets stamp set and Framed Florets Dies available separately or in a bundle for 10% off) that will be included in the upcoming January-July Mini Catalog, as well as coordinating limited-time only products, including the Framed & Festive stamp set (160888), Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper (161814), and Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirls (161822), which are available while supplies last. I LOVE the oval dies that you can layer and use with or without the frames! And, check out that pretty paper!!!

The Framed & Festive stamp set has beautiful large sentiments with lovely font. I embossed it in white on Poppy Parade Cardstock and then framed it with three oval die-cuts layered on top of each other for dimension.

I fussy cut the poinsettia images from Boughs of Holly Designer Series Paper, which happened to include both Poppy Parade and Shaded Spruce (perfect for this color challenge!) Then, I added more leaf die-cuts from Shaded Spruce and Pumpkin Pie Cardstock using the Framed Florets and Christmas Banner Dies.

For texture in the background, I used the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. Since this is a slimline card measuring 3-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ (to fit Stampin’ Up!’s slimline envelopes), I needed to run the top layer of Basic White Cardstock through the embossing folder twice. But, due to the design of the embossing folder, the seam in the middle is not even noticeable.

Tip: When running the embossing folder through the Cut & Emboss Machine the second time, line up the top embossing plate (#4) even with the end of the embossing folder and don’t go over the edge, instead reverse out backwards. This helps to avoid an unsightly embossed line where the embossing folder ends.

To finish the card, I added some Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels as holly berries and a bow tied with Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
