7 Days of Christmas — Trees For Sale

7 Days of Christmas : Day Five

My Artisan alumni friends and I are kick starting our holiday crafting with seven days of inspiration on Instagram. To see the daily projects, go to Instagram and search for #sevendaysofchristmas.

My fifth project features the Trees For Sale stamp set and elements from the Santa Express Memories & More Card Pack. I love the wood embellishments in that pack!

You’ll probably laugh at this, but I designed this entire card around the Adhesive-Backed Sequins & Gems from page 19 of the July-December Mini Catalog! I thought they were so pretty, and I LOVE the colors. So I picked colors that would coordinate with the embellishments, including Orchid Oasis, Gorgeous Grape, Fresh Freesia, Coastal Cabana, and Bermuda Bay.

To stamp the trees, I used Sponge Daubers to add multiple colors of ink to the stamp, then lightly spritzed the stamp before stamping on Shimmery White. After it dried, I stamped the detail stamp over each tree with a darker color ink.

The background includes another one of my favorites, Snowflake Vellum Specialty Paper!

For a little flair, I added an Orchid Oasis Glimmer banner and a few pine die-cuts from the Christmas Banners Dies.

Sooooo smart and creative!! Love how you used sponge daubers to create the multi-color background for the trees — brilliant. Wonderful mix of non-traditional colors that created a modern wonderland. Very well done.
