Hot Foil Craft Class Projects | Swimming In Stamps

Hi Stamping Friends! Did anyone else watch the Metallic Magic Craft Class presented live by Stampin’ Up! ® yesterday? If not, you can still watch the recording, and what’s even better is that the class is free when you purchase the new Hot Foil System. The “system” is actually a specialty plate built for the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine that heats up to use with special Hot Foil dies. I have to say that I loved the class and learned a lot of tips and tricks. The system is easy to learn and use and I’m loving it!

Today I’m sharing the four class projects that I made during the class. I made a few minor changes because I substituted the decorative papers for the Bloom Boutique Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP.)

For the first card above, I also added some additional Butterfly Flight die-cuts (leaves) from Peaceful Pine Two-Tone Cardstock.

Then, for the card below, I changed the stamped image to Crisp Cantaloupe to match the Bloom Boutique DSP.

There is a reflection in the photo above, because the top layer is a Window Sheet! The class included all sorts of unique ways to use Window Sheets with cards and hot foiling!

Another really interesting thing I learned was to use the Stampin’ Positioner to stamp the large leaf image from the Botanical Glow Bundle. Prior to the class, I had made several unsuccessful attempts to stamp the image with a large block, so this tip really helped! Now, I’m successful every time!

On the card below, I used a Hydrangea Hue Shimmer Brush to paint over some of the flowers on the DSP. Then, I added a few flowers die-cut with the Fragrant Layers Dies from Hydrangea Hue Two-Tone Cardstock.

For this last card, I added a few Butterfly Flight leaf die-cuts from Gold Foil. I love all the cool techniques they used in this class! Note on the card below that there is both gold and silver foiling on both the leaf and greeting!

If you’re on the fence about the new Hot Foil System, I would definitely recommend it. It adds a whole new and beautiful method to creating paper projects.
