Color Fusers Blog Hop – August 2026

Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for August 2026! This month, our color combination includes Pool Party, Secret Sea, and Lemon Lime Twist. If that doesn’t make you think of Summer, I don’t know what would. Ha! Of course, I HAD to pick the Rolling Waves Bundle for my project; it was just too perfect. Plus, it had been too long since I used it last!

A while ago, I saw Kaitlyn from Stampin’ Up!’s Concept Art Team demonstrate a super cool technique on Instagram to use with the Water & Dotted Lines Decorative Masks in order to create super realistic-looking water. I was dying to try it! To do this, secure a layer of Basic White Cardstock to your work surface and then lightly apply ink over the water mask with a Blending Brush. Then, reposition the mask and repeat, and again, and again until achieving the desired result. For my project, I also used two colors of ink including Pool Party and Secret Sea. I love the results!!!

I had to add the color Crumb Cake to my project, which I think is fine considering it’s a neutral and it’s only in the background. I used Crumb Cake Two-Tone Cardstock on the light side and then both stamped the water line and added ink blending to the edges.

I also used Pool Party and Secret Sea Two-Tone Cardstock to die-cut the umbrellas and get some slight variations of colors. Then, I used Blending Brushes to add some shading to my Lemon Lime Twist palm leaves.

When I created my water, I used an oversized sheet of Basic White so I could trim in down later. Because of that, I had some extra that I could layer inside the card, along with another umbrella built from the leftovers of the die-cuts from the card front.
