#TGIFC482 — Christmas in July

By | July 19, 2024

It’s Friday, and that means a new TGIF Challenge! This week, our theme is Christmas in July! It’s sooo hard for me to think of Christmas already. I LOVE Summer and the warm weather, even when it’s super hot like it has been lately. My pool was 91 degrees the other day when I went out to swim laps – heated only by the sun. Ha, while that’s not exactly prime exercising conditions, I’d still prefer it over the temperatures in mid to late September when it drops into the 60s.

Luckily, I happened to have the Golden Greenery Bundle on hand, a new Online Exclusive! I particularly love the dies and coordinating Graceful Greenery Vellum and Season of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper. The dies include beautiful pines (a favorite of mine) and the specialty papers are simply stunning. Also, some of the dies cut out images from the specialty papers!

There isn’t a lot of stamping on this card, just the sentiment from More Wishes. (The Golden Greenery Stamps are images only.) I focused instead on lots of layers of die-cuts, including some from the vellum. One of the sheets of the specialty vellum includes those beautiful snow covered pines.

The other layers include Golden Greenery die-cuts from Mossy Meadow and Soft Sea Foam Cardstock that I colored with Blending Brushes and Mossy Meadow ink. Then, I watercolored the background with Old Olive and Soft Sea Foam ink.

I stamped the sentiment with Garden Green ink on County Woods Designer Series Paper and Cherry Cobble ink on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I placed a layer of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock behind the Everyday Details label die-cut to add a little peek of color.

I love greens and neutrals together with a pop of Cherry Cobbler for Christmas. It’s earthy and elegant. So.the Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon and Neutrals Sequins were perfect finishing touches.

On the inside, I added a leftover vellum die-cut from the specialty paper. I also decorated a legal-sized envelope to mail the slimline shaped card. I simply slipped about 3″ of the DSP into the envelope and trimmed the sides at an angle to match the envelope.
