#TGIFC274 — Paper Scraps!

By | July 24, 2020

Happy TGIF Friday!!! This week, TGIF Challenges has a fun “Paper Scraps” challenge. If you’re like me, you have LOTS of paper scraps in your craft room, so I’m super excited to see what the designers’ come up with this week! Be sure to check out their creative projects on the TGIF Challenges Blog.

I decided to try a new technique (for me) on this card. I took at stab at using Bruno Bertucci scrappy strip technique. I had watched the video a while ago, and thought it looked so cool. In retrospect, I think I could have angled the strips more, but I’m still happy with the results. It reminds me a little of the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

To complete the card, I added a circle die cut from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. I painted a quick watercolor wash with Balmy Blue ink and stamped some little fish to go with the sentiment.

The rest of the card is fairly simple. I cut out the turtles from Whale of a Time 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and added some 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim that I had pulled apart. (It sort of looks like a fish net to me!)

Be sure to check out all the designers’ projects HERE. Then, create your own project and upload it to your blog or social media and link it to our challenge using the Linky Tool at the bottom of the TGIF Challenges post. I’d love to see your great ideas for using Paper Scraps!

Enjoy your weekend!
