#WWYS222 — Tropical Chic

By | June 3, 2019

Good Morning and welcome to a new What Will You Stamp? Challenge! This week, we are featuring the Tropical Chic stamp set. This is definitely one of my favorites, and what’s better is that it will be carrying over to the new catalog tomorrow! Yay!!!

If you would like to purchase this beautiful stamp set along with the coordinating Tropical Thinlits Dies, I would highly suggest doing it today, because this is the last day to buy them as a bundle and save 10%! (Both products will be available individually in the new catalog, but not as a bundle.)

For something different, I decided to use some new Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper (DSP) on my project. I’m in LOVE with this gorgeous new paper and can already see myself buying another pack! Both the green variegated sheet on top and the pink variegated sheet in the background came from that pack.

It may be hard to tell in the photos, but this is a shaker card filled with lots of pretty sequins. I built the shaker portion by using a Tropical Thinlits die on my top layer, backing it with a sheet of Granny Apple Green for a slight shadow effect, and then layering both of them over a Window Sheet.

I built up the shaker portion of the card with Foam Adhesive Strips capturing the sequins inside.

I custom made the ribbon on this card to match by coloring the White/Silver 3/8″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon with both Light and Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends Markers. I used the brush end to color one half of the ribbon with the dark marker and then blended up with the light marker.

For the flowers, I inked up the stamp with Petal Pink ink, then used a Sponge Dauber to add Flirty Flamingo ink to the center. Then, I used an Aqua Painter to add clear water to the stamp before stamping on Watercolor Paper. After stamping, I used the Aqua Painter to fine tune the blending, and then after the paper dried, I used a Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Marker to add some details in the center.

Final touches included some Silver Foil leaves, sequins and a white embossed sentiment on Flirty Flamingo Cardstock.

Hope you get a chance to click over to the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Blog and check out all the designers’ projects using the Tropical Chic stamp set.

Check back later, because I have another post today!!! The Color Fusers Blog Hop is in a few hours.

Have a wonderful and creative day!
