Color Fusers Blog Hop – July 2026

By | July 6, 2026

Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for July 2026! This month, we are creating projects with a color combination of Cloud Cover, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Poppy Parade. This is such a pretty combination that I never would have picked on my own. When I grabbed all the ink pads, it occurred to me that they would make a beautiful sunset with water, so that’s the direction I decided to go.

I used the Sunset Coast Bundle and two-tone cardstock to create this scene. First, I tore strips of Cloud Cover and Crisp Cantaloupe Two-Tone Cardstock, as well as some regular Poppy Parade Cardstock (since I didn’t have that color in two-tone.) By showing both the dark and light sides of the two tone cardstock, I got some pretty color variation. To intensify it even further, I used Blending Brushes to add Cloud Cover ink to the Cloud Cover strips and both Poppy Parade and Crisp Cantaloupe ink to the Poppy Parade and Crisp Cantaloupe strips. I didn’t think of this ahead of time, but the white core of the two-tone cardstock torn strips ended up looking like waves and clouds!

Next, I added a few stamped elements. For the sun, I inked up half of the stamp with Crisp Cantaloupe ink and the other half with Poppy Parade ink, and then gave the stamp a little spritz before stamping on Basic White Cardstock.

For the clouds, I inked up the stamp with Cloud Cover ink and then used Sponge Daubers to add Crisp Cantaloupe and Poppy Parade ink directly to the stamp before stamping on Basic White Cardstock.

Next, I die-cut the sailboat, seagulls, fish nets, and starfish/shells from Basic White Cardstock and used a Water Painter to add a little color to the sailboat hull (Cloud Cover) and starfish/shells (Crisp Cantaloupe.) (See the rest of the shells on the inside of the card.)

The sentiments on the card front and inside are from the Sunset Coast Stamp Set. I die-cut the card front sentiment using the Nested Essentials Dies.

Note: If you were unable to purchase a Cloud Cover ink pad, there is a way to create your own. Simply purchase the ink refill and use it with an uninked Stampin’ Spot ink pad.

On the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment by first inking it up with Crisp Cantaloupe and then only inking a portion with Poppy Parade. I also die-cut another sailboat and then used scissors to trim away the circle and waves. And, just like one on the card front, I watercolored the hull with Cloud Cover ink.
