#TGIFC376 – Sketch Challenge

By | July 8, 2022

Hello! This week, we have a sketch challenge at TGIF Challenges. I chose the Sunkissed stamp set from the new July-December (JD) Mini Catalog. I’m still in Summer mode, so I was delighted to see this cute stamp set on page 69 of the Mini. It’s intended for stampers who spend the holidays in warm weather, but it’s got some great year-round sentiments that work perfectly for right now!

The main image is one big stamp, so I used my Stamparatus to stamp with multiple colors. After setting up the Stamparatus with Shimmery White Cardstock, I used Stampin’ Write Markers to color sections of the red-rubber stamp, one color at a time. By using the Stamparatus, I was able to stamp multiple times in the exact same spot, so I could slowly build my multi-color image. I used the following marker colors: Tree tops — Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce; palm trunks — Soft Suede and Pumpkin Pie; ocean — Tahitian Tide and Bermuda Bay; vegetation — Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen; and sand — Crumb Cake and Petal Pink.

After stamping the image, I cut it out with a Stylish Circle Die and used a Water Painter to watercolor the sky with Balmy Blue and Tahitian Tide ink. I also blended the tree tops with a little Granny Apple Green and Mossy Meadow ink, the ocean with a little Tahitian Tide ink, and the sand with a little Crumb Cake and Petal Pink ink.

For the smaller circle, I stamped the image with Crumb Cake ink and watercolored with Balmy Blue, Tahitian Tide, Crumb Cake, Petal Pink, and Pumpkin Pie ink.

In the background, I chose some sheets of Texture Chic Designer Series Paper and Distressed Gold Specialty Paper to create my layers and die-cuts. I love the gold foil in the DSP and that specialty paper is to die for!!!

Final touches were some Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels to tie in the gold foil and a Linen Thread bow.

Be sure to check out this cute, hidden treasure of a stamp set in the JD Mini! I love it!!! Then click over to the TGIF Challenge Blog and check out all the designers’ projects this week using this sketch. You can enter our challenge by linking you project at the bottom of that page.

Have a wonderful and creative day.
