It’s a new month, and that means a new color challenge at TGIF Challenges!!! August’s color combo is super bright and vibrant, including Magenta Madness, Bermuda Bay, and Gorgeous Grape.
For my cards, I decided to play with a couple background techniques. I trimmed down some Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and used Stampin’ Write Markers to create this first one.
The marker technique is SO FAST & EASY. I simply used the brush end of the markers to swipe across the paper. I also used a ruler for a nice straight horizon line when I added the Gorgeous Grape. Then, I used my large Water Painter to activate the ink and turn the marker swipes into vibrant watercolor washes. After the ink dried, I splattered the paper with clear water, waited 30 seconds, and blotted with a paper towel. I love this look!
Next, I embossed the trees in white on Vellum and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
Since the background was so pretty, I decided on a Vellum tag created with the Lovely Labels Pick-A-Punch. Then, I added some Magenta Madness embellishments, including some 1/4″ ribbon and enamel dots.
For my next card, I used the large Water Painter to randomly watercolor a panel of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with the three ink colors. Then, I layered a beautiful Forever Gold Laser-Cut on top of it!
Since the background was so busy, I used solid colors for all my decorations. I embossed the flowers in white on Vellum Paper and layered them over matching die cuts from the 2020-2022 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper.
I cut the greeting out of Gorgeous Grape Cardstock three times and stacked them on top of each other. Then, I used a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to paint the entire die cut.
