Happy Friday! We have a new color challenge at TGIF Challenges this week including Lovely Lipstick, Basic Black, and Old Olive. When I saw this combo, I immediately thought of flowers and coloring. So, I decided to get a jump on Mother’s Day:)
I thought it would be fun to use the Dressed To Impress stamps and All Dressed Up Dies for this challenge. (Purchase in a bundle to save 10%.) This whole bundle is ultra feminine and reminds me so much of my Mother-In-Law. She’s a beautiful, classy lady.
I absolutely LOVE the way this card turned out. Sometimes, I have a vision in my mind and everything just flows, and this was one of those cards.
I started by cutting out a layer with a Stitched Rectangle Die and then creating an ombre pattern with Sponge Daubers and Lovely Lipstick ink. Then, I embossed the layer with the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder. I didn’t spritz the paper (which is typically advised to loosen the paper fibers) because I didn’t want to ruin the ink blending. However, I really love the little cracks created by the embossing folder. I think it adds a cool, vintage look to the card.
In addition, I used the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder to emboss a layer of Vellum Paper for the background.
Next, I created a fun Whisper White frame using a combination of Stitched Rectangle Dies and Stitched So Sweetly Dies.
I stamped the perfume bottle and numerous flower dies on Whisper White Cardstock, using Memento Ink. Then, I colored them with Lovely Lipstick, Old Olive, and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Markers.
Lastly, I embossed the sentiment in white on Basic Black Cardstock and cut it out with an All Dressed Up Die. Then, I added a few Rhinstone Basic Jewels that I colored with a Dark Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blend Marker.
Be sure to click over to the TGIF Challenges Blog to see all the designers’ projects this week using this color combination. Then, create one of your own and upload it to that website. We would LOVE to have you join our challenge!
Have a wonderful and creative day!
