Welcome to a new TGIF Challenge. This week, our theme is Christmas music. Yay, I love Christmas music!!! I always start decorating over the long Thanksgiving weekend, and I love listening to Christmas carols while I work away. I have many favorites, so I couldn’t pick just one. Instead, I simply looked through my stash and found the Merriest Trees Bundle with this great sentiment.
There are lots of music themed products in the SD Mini and Annual Catalog, including both the Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper and Joyful Specialty Paper, both with music notes. Additionally, the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder has music notes, which I used in the background.
To create the large tree, I used Blending Brushes to add Cherry Cobbler, Petal Pink, and Pecan Pie ink to Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Then, I splattered the paper with water droplets. After it dried, I embossed the leaf detail in gold and cut it out so I could layer it over Gold Foil. You can see little peeks of the Gold Foil between each layer.
I also embossed the sentiment on the smaller tree, and then used a Sponge Dauber to add Versamark ink to the edges so I could add a little gold embossing there too.
In the background, I dry embossed a layer of Crumb Cake Cardstock, blended it with a little Pecan Pie ink, and then dragged a Craft White ink pad over the raised areas. This added a little more dimension to the dry embossing to make the musical notes more visible.
The stars and garlands are cut from Gold Foil and Gold Glimmer Paper. Then, as a final touch, I added some Simply Elegant Trim and Blooming Pearls.
