#TGIFC434 — Inspiration Challenge

By | August 18, 2023

Hello and happy Friday! This week’s TGIF Challenge is a sketch challenge. I love the layered geometric shapes in the background! They’re so fun and different. Visually, they appear to form a subtle wreath.

I decided to use the Layering Leaves Stamp Set. It had been sitting on my shelf for too long, and this layout was a great opportunity to break it out. I love that it coordinates with the Bough Punch, has so many leaf options, and beautiful fonts! I also paired it with the Paper Florist Dies.

I used the Layering Leaves stamps to stamp two types of leaves. For the solid leaves, I inked them up with both Soft Sea Foam and Parakeet Party ink, spritzed the stamp, and then stamped on Basic White Cardstock. For the outline leaves, I embossed them in white on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I watercolored them with the same ink colors.

Tip: When watercoloring the outline leaves, paint inside and outside the lines to make the stamped image more visible.

I punched all the leaves with the coordinating Bough Punch and then used the leftover small bough punches to watercolor with Parakeet Party and Petal Pink for the small blooms.

For the flowers, I cut them out using the Paper Florist Dies from Basic White Cardstock. Then, I watercolored them with Balmy Blue, Boho Blue, and Petal Pink ink.

In the background, I used two of the largest squares from the Stylish Shapes Dies to create my geometric design. I splattered them with a Parakeet Party Stampin’ Write Marker for a little added interest. Then, I dry embossed the bottom layer of Basic White Cardstock with the Timber Embossing Folder.

My sentiment is embossed in white on Boho Blue Cardstock, fussy cut, and layered over some of the ribbon from the Zany Zoo Suite. Then, the final touch was a few Iridescent Basic Rhinestone Jewels.
