Happy Friday!!! For this week’s TGIF Challenge, we have a theme of “Magical.” When I saw the prompt photo below, it brought back memories of my daughter when she was little and loved unicorns. She even dressed up like a unicorn one Halloween. Needless to say, she’s grown up now. In fact, she’ll be turning the big 25 soon! All these thoughts prompted me to design a fanciful, and magical, birthday card for her.
These days, my daughter’s affections focus on her sweet cat, Tito. So, I decided to use the Love Cats stamp set and some fun stamping and background techniques.
To stamp the cats, I used a Stamparatus to stamp each cat with multiple colors. After positioning the stamp in the Stamparatus, I used Sponge Daubers to add one color at a time. I stamped over and over, cleaning the stamp in-between colors to get the intensity and coverage I wanted. I totally love my “rainbow cats!”
In the background, I used Stampin’ Blends Markers to randomly color on Vellum Paper. Then, I used a paint brush dipped in Isopropyl Alcohol to move the ink around. I reapplied the colors several times for intensity, and then I splattered the alcohol over the panel to add drops. I also splatters my cats with a Tahitian Tide Stampin’ Blend.
I used the following colors for both my rainbow cats and background: Daffodil Delight, Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, and Fresh Freesia.
Of course, I had to decorate the envelope too with some 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer Paper cut with Alphabet A La Mode Dies.
Then on the inside, I added a greeting from the Biggest Wish stamp set. I know she’s going to LOVE this!!!
