Our theme for this month’s Stampin’ Fancy Friday is birthdays, which is perfect, because my family has lots of special birthdays in March. To create my card, I used some of my favorite products, including the True Beauty Bundle and coordinating Awash In Beauty Designer Series Paper (DSP.)

The Awash In Beauty DSP is so incredibly pretty! I cut out the background section and used it as inspiration for this whole card. But since I was designing this for my very sweet sister, and for Stampin’ Fancy Friday, I really needed to step it up. So I added ink blending and fussy cut flowers and leaves to transform the garden scene into a 3D card.
I started by using Blending Brushes to add Granny Apple Green ink to the bottom of the DSP and Balmy Blue ink to the top.
Next, I selected flowers and leaves from different sheets of Awash In Beauty DSP and fussy cut them for layering. I also used the stamps to create other flowers, such as the Calypso Coral and Merry Merlot one on the bottom left, and the small Calypso Coral one on the top right. To add two colors to a stamped image, I inked up the stamp with one color, used a Sponge Dauber to add a second color, lightly spritzed the stamp and then stamped on Basic White Cardstock.
I also used the True Beauty Dies to cut extra leaves/stems from Granny Apple Green Cardstock and then shaded them with Blending Brushes and Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green, and Mossy Meadow ink.
After layering and building my 3D “garden,” I added a birthday sentiment using the Art Gallery stamp set and some unraveled Simply Elegant Trim and Iridescent Pastel Gems.
In the background, I layered the beautiful lattice die-cut over another layer of Awash In Beauty DSP.
