#TGIFC306 — Color Challenge

By | March 5, 2021

Hello and welcome to a new TGIF Challenge! This week, we have a color challenge including Just Jade, Gorgeous Grape and Daffodil Delight. These colors immediately made me think of Spring and butterflies!!!

For my project, I used the GORGEOUS new Butterfly Brilliance Bundle. This bundle is part of the Butterfly Bouquet Suite, a whole suite of early-release products that are available right now to purchase. You can download the flyer HERE to get a better look at the products I’m talking about, including the Butterfly Brilliance Cling Stamp Set and coordinating Brilliant Wings Dies, both of which will be included in the 2021 Annual Catalog. In addition, the coordinating Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ Designer series Paper and Natural Touch Specialty Paper will be available while supplies last.

I particularly LOVE the Natural Touch Specialty Paper. To me, any type of woodprint is wonderful, but this one is really special because of the subtle texture. I have a feeling it will sell out quickly, so don’t wait! (I used it as a backdrop in my photos. Also, stay tuned tomorrow for another butterfly post using this paper!)

I realized that one of the sheets of Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper coordinated with the challenge colors, so I used it to cut the detailed butterfly die-cuts. I layered those die-cuts over solid butterflies in the challenge colors and one white embossed butterfly on Vellum.

For the background, I used the pretty Stitched With Whimsy Dies. The stitching makes me think of movement and light, fluttering butterflies.

To add a little color, I used a background technique with Stampin’ Blends, a spritzer filled with alcohol, and a Window Sheet.

For the center butterfly, I decorated the body and wings with Flowers For Every Season Ribbon and Gems. I cut some Tear & Tape Adhesive lengthwise and used it to attach the folded ribbon (which I had also cut in half.) Then, I unraveled the White/Silver/Misty Moonlight twine and only used the white and silver to embellish my project.

Lastly, I used a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greeting stamp set.
