It’s Friday and that means it’s time for a new TGIF Challenge! This week, we have a color challenge including Smoky Slate, Real Red, and Petal Pink. I thought those were just perfect for one more Valentine’s Day card:)
For this card, I decided to play with my Stampin’ Blends to color and create a pretty background panel. First, I stamped the flowers with the Forever & Always stamps using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then colored them with Real Red, Petal Pink and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Markers.
Next, to create the background, I used a similar method to the scrapbook page I posted earlier this week with a Window Sheet and a Stampin’ Spritzer filled with 90% Isopropyl Alcohol. I used the brush end of the marker to color onto a Window Sheet, then I spritzed the Window Sheet and pressed or “smooched” it onto a layer of Basic White Cardstock for a cool “watercolor” effect. After applying several colors using the same method, I flicked the brush against the cap to add splatters.
The coordinating Always Dies include the cute little flowers on this card. I cut them out of Basic White Cardstock and just colored the centers with Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends and a Color Lifter for a soft, delicate look.
I also used the Many Hearts Dies to cut tout he Petal Pink intricate hearts both above and below the main panel. To make it easy to adhere, I attached an Adhesive Sheet to the back of the cardstock before cutting.
The background of this card includes a couple sheets of Neutral and Subtle 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. I dry embossed both for added texture and then used my scissors to rough up the edges.

Have a wonderful and creative day!
