#TGIFC598 — Sketch Challenge with Home For Christmas

By | October 9, 2026

Hello Friends and welcome to a new TGIF Challenge. This week, our theme is the sketch below. I decided to use the Home For Christmas Bundle from page 20 of the September-December 2026 Catalog. You might have overlooked this adorable bundle because it was designed for scrapbooking, but I saw the potential for a lot more, including Christmas cards! I particularly love the adorable gingerbread men. But, there’s lots more!!! Cute details include the wrappers for the candy, traditional holly leaves, and darling coordinating Timeless Christmas Designer Series Paper.

I love traditional Christmas images such as trees, snowflakes, and gingerbread men, as well as traditional colors, so I was immediately drawn to these products. My card is fairly simple with a few added details to make it super special.

I stamped the images by using a shading technique with Sponge Daubers. For example, for I inked up the gingerbread man with Crumb Cake ink and then sponged Pecan Pie around the edges. For the candy, I inked up the image with Poppy Parade and then sponged Real Red around the edges, and then for the tree I inked it up with Peaceful Pine, stamped off on scratch paper once to lighten the color and then added more Peaceful Pine ink with a Sponge Dauber for the shading.

After stamping the images, I added detail with a White Gel Pen by drawing dots and lines on the tree and gingerbread man. I also used a dark Poppy Parade and Deep Stampin’ Blend Marker to color the eyes and smile. Then, for extra pizzazz, I brushed the tree (and holly berries) with a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

Did you notice the candy wrapper? I die-cut two from Vellum Specialty Paper and placed my stamped candy inside. Also, those adorable Real Red and White Adhesive Backed Peppermints on the gingerbread man are still available to purchase! They were carried-over from last year, so be sure to snag them while you can!!!

You may ask, where did I get that sentiment? I actually cut the words from two different sentiments in the Home For Christmas Stamp Set. (I can easily piece them back together if needed.)

The background and two layered square panels are from the Timeless Christmas Designer Series Paper.

Then, on the inside of the card, I used a sentiment from the Woodland Wishes Stamp Set. (Note: I forgot to add more holly berries to the inside, so I did that after I took the photo.)
