Color Fusers Blog Hop — October 2026

By | October 5, 2026

Hello and welcome to the October Color Fusers Blog Hop! This month, we have color combination that’s great for Fall, masculine cards, and even Christmas cards. To me, these colors are calming and earthy. They make me think of nature. Since I’m focused on building up my stash of Christmas cards for the holidays, I decided to pick the adorable Woodland Wishes Stamp Set for my projects.

I’ve been wanting to sit down and color this large image from the Woodland Wishes Stamp Set with Stampin’ Blends Markers for a while now. I LOVE coloring with Stampin’ Blends Markers! Although, I have to confess that I had to bend the rules a little since there is no Early Espresso Stampin’ Blend Marker Combo. Alternatively, I used the Stampin’ Blends Deep Combo which is VERY close. But that got me thinking that maybe I should just use all the natural blends combos from deep to light. They provided a great contrast for all the different animals and I love how this turned out

I did also throw in a lot of Mossy Meadow (Christmas tree) and Golden Glow colored items.

I’m a big fan of Stampin’ Blends Markers and there are no many different ways to use them. Here are a few tips I’ve discovered along the way:

  1. I like to start with the dark markers in the shadows and then add the lighter ones.
  2. I also like to focus on completing small sections at a time so the ink stays reactive.
  3. Color over previously colored areas to activate the blending process.
  4. Use a Color Lifter to add white spots (as on the deer) by holding the nib end in place for about 5 seconds. This marker is also great for softening transitions from color to white.
  5. To create a “fur” texture, color with small dots. This dot technique also helped me blend the background of the tree.
  6. To “clean up” lighter areas after they’re outlined with dark colors, recolor the light areas and leave the marker in place a bit to push ink in place.
  7. Have fun!!!!

Both sentiments on the card front and the inside are from the Woodland Wishes Stamp Set. These stamps don’t have coordinating dies, so I looked for ones in my stash that would match. I found great labels in both the Fragrant Layers Dies and Textured Notes Dies. For the one on the inside of the card, I elongated the die-cut by using the partial die-cutting method.
