Simple Valentines Treats!

By | January 30, 2019

Today, I have another idea to share to create quick and easy Valentine’s Day treat bags. I used the Meant To Be stamp set and coordinating Be Mine Framelits Dies to decorate 3″ x 6″ gusseted cello bags filled with candy!

I filled my bags with Ghirardelli chocolates, Hershey’s hearts, and Reese’s hearts. The basic concept was the same for all the treat bags. I just changed the papers and ink colors to coordinate with the candy packaging.

I used Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies to cut out the base of the toppers from either Gold, Silver or Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheets. (The Lovely Lipstick sheets are available, along with Grapefruit Grove, in a pack you can earn for free during Sale-A-Bration when you make a purchase of $50 or more.)

I folded the rectangle tops in half and adhered them to the treat bags with Tear & Tape Adhesive.

Then, I stamped Happy Valentine’s Day with Stazon ink on Shimmery White Cardstock, cut out the hearts with the Be Mine Framelits Dies, and then gave them a quick watercolor wash with a coordinating color of ink. To create the watercolor wash, I squeezed my ink pad to pool ink in the lid. Then, I used an Aqua Painter to add a little water to the ink. I started painting where I wanted the ink to be the darkest and used a back and forth motion to blend down.

For some of the background hearts, I added some embossing with the Lace Dynamic Textured Impression Embossing Folder. For others, I simply used the Be Mine Framelits Dies to cut out pre-printed hearts from All My Love Designer Series Paper.

Final touches include ribbon tied and adhered with a glue dot, or zig-zagged behind the layered hearts. The possibilities are endless!

Have a wonderful and creative day!
