February 2019 Desktop Calendar

By | March 4, 2018

This is the latest edition to my 2019 Desktop Calendars.  My goal is to work a year in advance, designing one calendar a month.  I make eight sets and give them out as Christmas gifts to my friends and family.

The February page uses the Heart Happiness stamp set, centering around my favorite stamp … the striped heart.

To stamp the striped heart, I used Stampin’ Write Markers  (Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, and Calypso Coral) to color the stripes directly onto the stamp.  Then before I stamped, I used an Aqua Painter to lightly brush clear water over the stamp.  When applying the water, I was careful to clean my brush between each color.  Then, I stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock.

For the smaller heart, flower and month, I embossed with gold on Blushing Bride and Very Vanilla cardstock.  Both hearts have coordinating framelits (Lots to Love Box Framelits and Sweet & Sassy Framelits Dies) to cut them out, but I had to cut the flower out by hand.   I also used the Lots to Love Box Framelits to cut out the Gold Foil banner.

I really love the Painted With Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.  It is printed with gold foil and looks stunning with the gold embossing and accents.

For a little artistic touch, I added some Gold Mini Tinsel Trim.  To secure it, I rolled Mini Glue Dots into logs and placed three in strategic places.

For the February label, I used a retired stamp set called Project Life Date It.  I embossed it in gold on Very Vanilla Cardstock, and then punched it out with a Classic Label Punch.

I created a printable calendar page on My Memories Suite.  To download the JPEG, click HERE.   Print the JPEG on 8-1/2″ x 11″ Very Vanilla cardstock with the smallest margins possible for your printer.  The days and numbers are colored Soft Suede (which looks beautiful with gold accents), so use a color printing setting.  Each sheet will make 4 calendar layers.  Trim each one down to 3″ x 5″ as follows:
