Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for September 2022. This month, we have a color combination of Fresh Freesia, Blackberry Bliss, and Pale Papaya. Wow, aren’t these great colors?!! I never would have thought of this combination on my own, but it’s so pretty!

I just ordered the Bottled Happiness Bundle, which includes the Bottled Happiness Stamp Set and Vintage Bottle Punch, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to use it. On my card, I paired the bundle with the Vintage Bottle Shaker Domes and Effervescent Elements to create a fun 3D shaker card.
When I first saw this color challenge, I searched my stash for designer series papers in the three challenge colors. I found Pretty Prints DSP in Blackberry Bliss and Splendid Day DSP in Fresh Freesia. Believe it or not, my card includes a foil sheet colored Fresh Freesia. No matter how I held my camera and set up my shot, the reflection photographed copper, but in real life, it’s Fresh Freesia.
I had a lot of fun creating this card, and it actually came together really fast. I started by randomly watercoloring two half sheets of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, one with Pale Papaya ink and the other with Blackberry Bliss and Fresh Freesia. I really tried to get lots of darks and lights on both sheets. Then, I stamped and embossed the leaves in white using the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set right on top of the watercolored paper. This technique is super fast and yields a totally different result from stamping first and then watercoloring.
In the background, I lightly watercolored the background with Fresh Freesia ink using a paper towel to mop up and dab. I was going for a totally messy look. In fact, when I flicked Blackberry Bliss splatter all over the background, I accidentally smeared the ink. But rather than throwing it away, I just flowed with it and smeared the rest on purpose.
I stamped the bottle with Blackberry Bliss ink on Basic White and layered it under the punched watercolor paper.
Then, in the background, I used two sheets of DSP and even dry embossed the Pretty Prints layer with the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. I totally LOVE how that turned out.
Finally, I borrowed a Beautiful Shapes Die to cut out the sentiment, added some 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds colored Pale Papaya, and frayed some silver Simply Elegant Trim to loop under the sentiment.
