Welcome to a new TGIF Challenge. We always start off the month with a color challenge, so our February combo includes Tahitian Tide, Smoky Slate, and Gorgeous Grape. I say any combo that includes Tahitian Tide is a winner in my book! It’s my absolute favorite!!!
I have a bunch of new stamp sets from the JA Mini Catalog sitting on my shelf, so I decided to try out the Decorative Borders Stamps. It’s super pretty and includes all sorts of beautiful, flowing images. Since it doesn’t include sentiments, I also added the Go To Greetings Stamps, which has a similar style.
I stamped and embossed the Decorative Borders stamps in white and the Go To Greetings sentiment in silver. To ensure perfect alignment and good ink coverage for embossing, I used a Stamparatus Tool. It allowed me to align the stamps straight and stamp multiple times in the same place to ensure no mistakes.
After stamping the images on Shimmery White Cardstock, I used the challenge colors to watercolor. The embossing makes it super easy, since the ridges act like little dams to contain the water.
I used my trimmer to partially cut the bottom edge and then fussy cut the middle.
In the background, I used some 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer Paper and a sheet of Vellum Basics 12″ x 12″ Specially Designer Paper over a Smoky Slate card base. The Vellum Basics paper is a little hidden gem in the JA Mini Catalog! It’s super pretty and elegant and includes three different designs!
