#TGIFC342 — Sketch Challenge

By | November 12, 2021

Happy Friday and welcome to a new TGIF Challenges. This week, we have a lovely sketch challenge. It’s clean and simple and open to creative interpretation.

I decided to design a Christmas card using the Sparkle of the Season and Christmas To Remember Bundles. It’s that time of year when I have LOTS of Christmas cards to make.

Recently, I was so inspired by a gorgeous card designed by my Artisan friend Angela Meiritz-Reid during our CASE the Cattie event on Instagram that I had to make one of my own. (CASE means Copy And Share Everything.) You can see her beautiful card HERE. Well, I loved her card so much that I CASEd her CASE!!! 🙂

I absolutely LOVED the colors on Angela’s card. The blended blues in the background are stunning. My card uses the same color palette; I started with a layer of Balmy Blue Cardstock and used Blending Brushes to add Night of Navy and Pacific Point ink. I also stamped the pine bough with Pacific Point ink.

Next, I cut out two wreaths from Vellum and Balmy Blue Cardstock using the Seasonal Swirls Dies. Then, I added extra Balmy Blue holly leaves and pinecones cut from Basic White and Be Dazzling Specialty Paper. That Be Dazzling Specialty Paper was a free Sale-A-Bration item during September. Sadly, it is no longer available to purchase, but I love it so much, I just can’t stop using it for the holidays.

The rest of the card was pretty simple. I adhered a bunch of Subtle Shimmer Sequins and embossed the greeting in white on Basic Black Cardstock. To create the notched ends on my banner, I used the Banners Pick A Punch. Finally, I added a silver bow using Simply Elegant Trim.

Thank you again Angela for the wonderful inspiration!

I hope you can join TGIF Challenges this week! I’d love to see how you interpret this sketch. Check out all the designers’ projects and use the Linkly Tool to submit your own design on the TGIF Challenges Blog post.

Just beautiful. Love the shininess and glamour but it’s not to overdone. I am going to try it and hope the results are just as nice. Thank you for sharing.
