#TGIFC300 — Catalog Inspiration

Hello Friends! It’s time for a new TGIF Challenge! This week, we are getting inspiration from the January-June Mini Catalog. There are SO MANY amazing samples in the catalog. It’s a great place to get ideas for layouts, color combinations, stamping techniques, and different ways to use embellishments. This is going to be a really fun challenge, because there’s so much to choose from.

I thumbed through the catalog and found this really pretty card on page 80. I particularly love the multi-colored strips in the background and the bokeh stamping technique on the blended layer. I thought it would be a fun to try this layout with a different stamp set and color combination.

My card features the Lots of Heart Photopolymer Stamps and coordinating Many Hearts Dies. After creating a blended background with Melon Mambo, Real Red, Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral, and Petal Pink ink, I stamped the various hearts with white craft ink. I really love how this technique results in subtle color variations.

Next, I stamped and embossed the small flowers in white on coordinating colors of cardstock and then used the dies to cut them out and layer the large heart as well. I absolutely love that large detailed heart. It’s what sold me on this whole bundle.

Next, I started playing with some Resin Hearts and ended up creating a sort of vine pattern to tie in all the pieces. I love how it turned out!

This was such a fun challenge and it really helped me think outside the box. I encourage you to give it a try. Go find something that inspires you in the January-June Mini Catalog and then make something with your own twist.
