Sweet Easter Treats!

By | April 23, 2019

Hope you had a Happy Easter!

Today, I thought I’d share some quick treat boxes I made for family and friends.  I got the idea of creating these boxes using the Envelope Punch Board from Artisan Designer Sylwia Schreck.

I love the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper, and the colors are so perfect for Easter! Each box has a coordinating belly band and retired Sale-A-Bration ribbon. I also used some retired Sale-A-Bration wooden butterflies to decorate each box.

To decorate the belly bands, I used the Bouquet Bunch Framelits Dies. I cut the flowers out of Shimmery White Cardstock, and then used an Aqua Painter to watercolor with coordinating ink colors. Start by brushing the entire die cut with clear water, and then use the brush to add ink to the center of each flower and let the ink bleed. This is a fast and easy technique that yields beautiful results!

I have to admit that my Easter supplies are a little slim, so I grabbed greetings from two different stamp sets. The “Happy” is from the Well Said stamp set and the “Easter” is from Itty Bitty Greetings. Both are embossed in white on Basic Black Cardstock and cut out by hand.

Because I started out with paper measuring 6″ x 6″, and each box needs 6-1/4″ x 6-1/2″ of paper, I ended up piecing together multiple sections, but you can hardly tell. Score the short side at 1-1/2″, 3″ 4-1/2″, and 6″. Score the long side at 1-1/2″ and 5″. Fold the long side on one of the score lines, center each score line in the Envelope Punch Board and punch. You can do this on one side, to create the boxes I’ve shown here, or both sides to create a cracker box.

To add the extra scallop on the top of the box, use the Envelope Punch Board to center one more punch in-between the score lines. Adhere together with Tear and Tape.

Have a wonderful and creative day!
