Hello and Happy Mother’s Day!!! Welcome to the May Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This month, our theme is the new 2022-2024 In Colors! We are each picking our favorites, and boy oh boy that’s not easy. This group of colors is the best EVER! They include Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Starry Sky, and Orchid Oasis.

Favorite New In Color – Tahitian Tide

With that said, it’s probably no surprise that my favorite new In Color is Tahitian Tide. I love turquoise AND I love bright, bold colors, and this one is a beauty. Plus I’m sort of partial to the name … I actually lived (and worked) in Tahiti for a while in my mid-20s. It was seriously a dream come true. Every morning I got up and looked at the color of the ocean and the sky, I could hardly believe it was real. It was literally breathtaking. In all my travels since, I’ve never seen or experienced anything like it.

I had so much fun designing these projects and just focusing on one color. The best thing is that the new catalog includes LOTS of coordinating products and embellishments.

Happiness Abounds Card:

My first card features the Happiness Abounds Bundle found on pages 108-109. It’s also featured on the cover of the new Annual Catalog and was one of the first items on my wish list. I used a card and matching envelope from the Tea Boutique Cards and Envelopes! It’s so easy to grab one of these pre-printed card bases to decorate and go. I absolutely love the envelopes too!!!

I stamped and embossed the flowers and leaves in white on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and then watercolored them with Tahitian Tide and a little Parakeet Party ink.

I think one of my favorite things about the Happiness Abounds Bundle is the background die! Isn’t it pretty? I love how some of the pieces punch out and others stay adhered, as well as the swirly design. I also really love the two border dies that come with this bundle. One creates the fun ripped spiral looking design on this card.

To finish off the card, I added some Tahitian Tide Baker’s Twine and Matte Decorative Dots, a couple of the great coordinating embellishments.

Nature’s Prints Card:

My next card features the Nature’s Prints Bundle found on pages 90-91. It was another immediate stand-out when I first glanced through the new catalog. The designer series paper that coordinates with this suite is absolutely stunning, but since the focus of this blog hop is the new In Colors, I completely changed things up and created this Tahitian Tide monotone card.

I again stamped and embossed the main image in white and then watercolored with Tahitian Tide ink. But this time, I added some additional die-cuts from watercolor paper and Tahitian Tide Cardstock.

In the background, I used some 2022-2024 In Color 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper and some In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, as well as some Vellum dry embossed with the Fern 3D Embossing Folder (another fav!)

Then, let’s talk about that fun 1/8″ Metallic Woven Ribbon. In comes in all five of the new In Colors and it’s so cool. While I didn’t do it here, you can pull the fibers apart and spread out the ribbon for a totally different look. It’s also thin enough to tie fancy, pretty ribbons like the one here.

The final touch on this card was some Iridescent Pearls! Soooo pretty!!!
