Stamping Sunday – Mainly Monochrome

By | January 21, 2024

Welcome to the January 2024 Stamping Sunday Blog Hop! This month, our theme is manly or mainly monochrome cards!!! I love monochrome projects, so that’s what I picked. Additionally, I LOVE blue, so my card focuses on blue tones, including Azure Afternoon, Balmy Blue, and a little Blueberry Bushel.

To see all the designers’ project this month, see the blog roll at the bottom of the post. We are starting off 2024 with a bang!

I used so many fun, new products on this card!!! First, lets talk about the sentiment. I created it by using a brayer to add Azure Afternoon ink to the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder. This embossing folder includes lots of 3D sentiments, as well as a coordinating die that fits into the embossing folder to both emboss and cut at the same time! After cutting out the sentiment, I use Azure Afternoon and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends Markers to fill in the outlined sentiment. Then, to make it more visual, I adhered it to a layer of Vellum Cardstock and fussy cut around the layers.

I created the background and flowers with the Layered Floral 3D Embossing Folder. Oh my, I’m totally in LOVE with this folder. It’s just exquisite! To really make the dry embossing show, I used a couple techniques. First, I used a brayer to add Azure Afternoon ink to the logo side of the embossing folder, and then gave the ink a little spritz of water, before running it through the Cut & Emboss Machine. After drying the embossed layer, I used a brayer to add Craft White ink to the raised areas. Lastly, I used a Blueberry Bushel Stampin’ Write Marker to add splatter to the entire layer.

Next, I used the Layered Floral 3D Embossing Folder to emboss Thick Basic White Cardstock and then fussy cut a large flower and three small flowers. Afterwards, I colored the dry embossed flowers with both Azure Afternoon and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends Markers. I totally love how this turned out!

Behind the flowers, I layered a few Notes of Nature leaf die-cuts from Blueberry Bushel Cardstock. Then, to complete the card, I added a bow tied with white baker’s twine and several blue Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins.

I hope the photos do this card justice, because in real life, the textures really look beautiful.
