Love You Much

When I first saw all the fun elements in the Kangaroo & Company stamp set, I wanted to use them all! So I decided to create three different cards, all based on a similar design, devoted to love, birthday, and new baby. For my “love” card, I only used the stamps and dies.

I stamped the images with Stazon ink on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper so I could watercolor them with Water Painters. I love watercoloring! In fact, I also watercolored the “LOVE” and background Layering Circle die-cut. I used a couple different watercoloring techniques. For the kangaroos, I watercolored small sections by first going over the area with clear water and then adding ink to the shadows and blending evenly. For the background circle, I purposely used a heat tool to add fun watermarks and then stamped the grass on top of the dried layer.

The coordinating die-cut for the big kangaroo automatically cuts a slit along the top of the pouch. When you remove the envelope, it has a little hidden message.

In the background, I used Calypso Coral Cardstock for the card base and background layer. After dry embossing the layer with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, I roughed up the edges with the side of my scissors and then used a Blending Brush to add Calypso Coral ink to the edges for subtle shading and to emphasize the central portion of the card.

For fun I used the Playful Alphabet Dies to create a short sentiment on each card. Prior to cutting, I attached the cardstock to a Foam Adhesive Sheet so the letters would really pop. On this first card, I used watercolor paper and then watercolored the letters to get the ombre effect.

I think my favorite part of this card is the bow! I wrapped Pool Party 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon around my fingers three times and then tied a knot around the center and used Mini Glue Dots secure it in place.

Hello Baby

For my Baby card, I changed the card base to Coastal Cabana and used lots of bright, happy colors to watercolor the flowers and butterflies.

I also used some Playing With Patterns DSP to cut out the word “BABY” and the Stitched Rectangle die-cut in the background.

Don’t you just love that cute little baby in the pocket?

Happy, Happy Happy B-Day

My final card is a Night of Navy “B-DAY” or birthday card. Isn’t the little party hat cute? There are just so many cute elements in this set!

On this card, there’s another secret message in the pouch.

I stamped the “Happy For You” stamp three times and just cut out the “Happy” portion.

To create the pom-pom, I wrapped Playing With Patterns Ribbon around my fingers multiple times, tied the center tightly with a separate strip, and then cut all the loops.

This is a super fun bundle, great for kids! I know you’ll love it as much as I do.

Enjoy and have a wonderful and creative day!
