Stampin’ Up! — Flowers of Friendship Bundle

By | May 22, 2021

Hello and welcome! I’m Tami Hewlett from the United States and today, I’m sharing my May Artisan Design Team projects featuring the Flowers of Friendship Bundle! These projects were shared by Stampin’ Up! on its Corporate Facebook page yesterday in the Artisan Design Team Showcase. Click over to that sight for loads of inspiration!

The Flowers of Friendship Bundle is so pretty! It includes the Flowers of Friendship Cling Stamp Set with multiple florals and four beautiful sentiments, as well as the coordinating Flowers and Leaves Punch. (Purchase in a bundle for 10% off.) I particularly love the delicate line art and long border stamp.

In fact, I used the long border stamp to create the background on my Ombre’ Gift Bag. To align the stamp perfectly, I used a Stamparatus and the hinge step method to repeatedly stamp the image with Craft White ink on Vellum Paper. The spacing was a little too far apart, so I used the hinge method again to stamp in-between the initial images. Then, I embossed the entire layer in white.

To create the flowers, I embossed them in white on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and watercolored them with Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Fresh Freesia, Evening Evergreen, and Soft Succulent ink. To add some extra dimension, I embossed and colored a few extra flowers. Then, I fussy cut the large floral image and used the coordinating punch to punch out the Fresh Freesia flower on the right.

Next, I used the Tailor Made Tags Dies to cut the tags from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and Pattern Party 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. I also used that same paper to rip and layer behind the flowers. You can find that paper pack on page 171 on the 2021 Annual Catalog. It’s a new Host Rewards Product and it’s fabulous!!! It includes 48 sheets of double-sided prints, and one side of all the sheets is colored black and white! I love black and white prints, because they seem to go with everything.

For the sentiment, I used one of the smaller Tailor Made Tags Dies to create a custom label. Use this technique to stretch the use of these dies! After cutting out the initial tag, I repositioned the die, gave it a little jiggle to align the stitching, and then ran it through the Cut & Emboss Machine a second time to cut the left side and create my label. Then, I used the reinforcer pieces to create a scalloped border on the bottom.

I have a confession, I got a little sloppy when I was splattering my watercolored flowers with a Polished Pink Stampin’ Write Marker and got the splatters on my Ombre’ Gift Bag. But then I realized I like it, so I splattered the rest of the bag! To finish off my project, I tied the top with some Pale Papaya 1/2″ Open Woven Ribbon. Beautiful!!!

For my next project, I created a card and ended up cutting an Ombre’ Gift Bag to use as background paper. Those bags are so pretty that it sort of broke my heart to cut it, but I love the effect!

Similar to my first project, I embossed the flowers in white on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and watercolored them with the 2021 In Colors. I used the coordinating punch to cut out the flowers, and then for a little variety, I added a bud from the larger floral image. Afterwards, I splattered the flowers with a Polishing Pink Stampin’ Write Marker. Then I stamped the leaves with both Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent ink and watercolored them with the same colors.

In the background, I added four Tailor Made Tags die-cuts from Pattern Party 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and added some frayed twine from the Baker’s Twine Combo pack.

This time for the sentiment, I used the Banners Pick A Punch to notch the end of my banner and layered some pretty Polished Pink Open Weave ribbon underneath. Finally, I added some gorgeous 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.

I hope my projects have inspired you. I really loved playing with the new Flowers of Friendship Bundle, as well as the other new products featured on these projects. I think you will too!
