Color Fusers Blog Hop – October

By | October 5, 2020

Good Morning! It’s time for a new Color Fusers Blog Hop! This month, our color combination includes Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake, and Cherry Cobbler. When I first saw these, I immediately thought of Christmas. Even the names of the colors make me think of the holidays — cinnamon cider wafting from the kitchen, yummy cakes in the oven, and cherry desserts. Yum!

Be sure to follow through the blog hop by clicking the links at the end of this post for lots of inspiration using this color combination!

I decided to use the Peace & Joy Bundle, including the Peace & Joy Photopolymer Stamps and Joy Dies. (Buy them in a bundle and save 10%.) I was particularly drawn to the large words and block stamps. Block stamps are so versatile and easy to cut out. And, I love being able to combine them with other stamp sets!

For color challenges, I love starting out by going through my stash of designer series papers to find any that might work. I found this great Cinnamon Cider wood print in the 2020-2022 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Pack and Cherry Cobbler plaid print in the Plaid Tidings 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Pack. I cut out both with a Stitched Rectangle Die and layered a Whisper White Stitched So Sweetly Die on top.

I stamped the starburst with Cinnamon Cider ink directly onto the Whisper White die cut and then layered the “Bright” dies on top. The detailed “Bright” die is cut from Brushed Metallic Cardstock. I attached an Adhesive Sheet before cutting it out to make it easy to adhere!

For decorations, I embossed the holly leaves in white on Crumb Cake Cardstock and then stamped the berries in Cherry Cobbler. I also stamped the other leaves with Cinnamon Cider ink on Whisper White Cardstock and fussy cut them all out.

I didn’t have any Cherry Cobbler ribbon, so I made some! I used a Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends Marker to color Gold 3/8″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon. Afterwards, I added some Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

I chose a fall theme which just seemed easiest to me but I could imagine that Christmas could work too. I love that you created a Christmas card with this color scheme. TFS!
