Celebrate A Wonderful Memory

By | September 10, 2020

Do you enjoy scrapbooking? I used to do it all the time when my kids were younger, and I still love turning special photos into artistic memory pages when I get a chance. There’s such a sense of accomplishment , and then later, I love flipping through all the wonderful books I’ve accumulated over the years.

My daughter recently graduated from college and had a bunch of amazing photos taken. It’s almost overwhelming when I think of how many I’d like to turn into scrapbook pages, but instead, I just decided to take my time and work on my favorites when inspiration hit me. So, here’s the first one…

She had to sneak into school to get her grad photos, because the campus was closed due to COVID. But, they did it and no one said a thing. She even went prepared with an empty bottle of nice champagne and some fizzy Sprite to stage to photo above. (Wasn’t that a great idea? I mean, who wants to waste good champagne?)

Looking at this photo makes me so happy. It captures her fun-loving spirit and the absolute joy of her accomplishment. With all the delays and cancellations that came with the pandemic, this is what I want to remember … my sweet, happy girl celebrating years of hard work and a huge milestone.

I ended up looking through Pinterest for layout ideas. Then, I played with lots of different color options and settled on using metallics from the gorgeous Brushed Metallic 12″ x 12″ Cardstock. (That pack includes sheets in bronze, copper, and gold, and they look super elegant together.)

I also used both the Wreath Builder Dies and Playful Alphabet Dies for decorations and the title, as well as the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder.

To add a little bit of interest on the 12″ x 12″ background sheet of Whisper White Cardstock, I added some white embossing paste applied over a Basic Pattern Mask. It’s a little hard to see in the photos, but there are subtle circles mimicking the spray of the champagne in the photo. To further enhance that effect, I added a few Champagne Basic Jewels as well.

I may add some journaling later when I finish other pages and figure out how they’ll all come together, but for now I decided to simply add a few “smiles” stamped and embossed in gold on Vellum Cardstock using the Lovely You stamp set.

Hope this inspires you a find some of your favorite photos and create a special memory.

Have a great day!
