Baby Card – Case the Catalog

By | November 25, 2019

Hi Friends! Today, I’m sharing a baby card that I made for a sweet family member. In fact, she was the flower girl in my wedding 29 years ago!!! She and her husband just recently had their second son, so I wanted to make a special card to celebrate.

I don’t make a lot of baby cards, so my supplies are minimal. Therefore, I looked for a little inspiration from the Annual Catalog and found it on page 109!!! The Hand-Lettered Prose Dies were perfect!

I cut all the dies and layers from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Then, I selected some soft pastel colors to watercolor my rainbow background, including Balmy Blue, Soft Seafoam, and So Saffron. After watercoloring the background, I placed the letter dies on top to get an idea where they would sit, and then I watercolored them with coordinating colors.

Afterwards, I created splatters using Stampin’ Write Markers, by using the cap to flick the brush end towards the card layer.

To cut the small hearts, I used the little Stitched Be Mine Dies. The little hearts fall out when you cut the background die. Final touch was a raveled Whisper White Baker’s Twine bow.

On the inside, I used one of the sweet sayings from the coordinating Praiseworthy Prose stamp set.

Simple and sweet, I love it.
