Artisan Design Team – Spruced Up Bundle

By | October 29, 2022

Hello! I’m Tami Hewlett from California, USA, and today I’m sharing my October Artisan Design Team projects featuring the Spruced Up Bundle. This is a super cute bundle with images and dies that provide great options for holiday cards and gifts.

Be sure to check out the Stampin’ Up! Facebook page to see all the Artisans’ creative projects featuring this festive bundle.

You can find the Spruced Up Bundle on page 13 of the July-December Mini Catalog. It includes the Spruced Up Photopolymer Stamp Set and Spruced Up Outline Dies. I love how the dies cut out outlines of the trees, ornaments, and snowflakes.

Merry Christmas Trees:

For my tree-themed card, I chose a color palette of blue and silver, a holiday favorite of mine. I really had fun playing with the dies on this card!

I decided to create my own “papers” to use on this card. I watercolored two different sheets of Shimmery White Cardstock, one with Night of Navy, Pacific Point, and Tahitian Tide ink and another with just Pacific Point and Tahitian Tide. Afterwards, I flicked water drops on the sheets and mopped them up with a paper towel to remove some of the color, and then used them to cut out the trees and lights. (Prior to cutting out the lights, I attached an Adhesive Sheet to the back.) I love using this method, because I can find really interesting areas to cut the dies.

After cutting out the trees, I added silver embossed ornaments and stars. Then, I added one more silver embossed tree on Night of Navy Cardstock.

In the background, I started by watercoloring a third sheet of Shimmery White. But this time, I not only added water drops, I used the snowflake stamp to add even more variation. First, I stamped it with clear water by using a Water Painter to brush water on the stamp, then I stamped with Craft White ink. The effects are subtle, but add a “molted” look that I liked.

To finish the card, I added White Glimmer Paper elements including the Stylish Shape circle, and some Iridescent Pearls, silver Festive Pearls, and Iridescent Trim. I love sparkle and glimmer on holiday cards!

Season’s Greeting Card:

My next card focuses on the ornaments. I created similar custom watercolored paper to the first project. This time, I only used Tahitian Tide and Pacific Point ink in the background.

Then, I watercolored a sheet of Shimmery White Cardstock with Fresh Freesia and Orchid Oasis ink for the main ornament.

This time, I added some elements cut from Snowflake 12″ x 12″ Specialty Vellum, with pre embossed snowflakes.

To create the background banner, I cut the bottom with a Basic Borders Die.

The Spruced Up Bundle is so fun to use! I hope these projects inspire you to give it a try.
