7 Days of Scrapbooking – Day Three.
I have to confess that when I was asked to join this event, I thought it would be impossible for me to complete 7 pages in time. I don’t make scrapbook pages that often, so I feel like I’m sort of slow. But I seriously surprised myself. The more I did it, the more fun I had, and the more incentive I got to finish!
I LOVE how today’s page turned out. It was entirely unexpected. When I asked my daughter for some photos, she just happened to toss in these candid shots, and they showed so much joy and character, I just knew I had to use them.
My daughter Shannon lives in Southern California, but her job is largely remote, so this past Winter she was able to spend a lot of time at my mom’s house in Mammoth Lakes, keeping her grandma company and enjoying the local skiing. She even bought a season pass. My mom absolutely loved the time spent with her granddaughter and they grew closer than ever. For Shannon’s birthday, she invited a bunch of her friends up to join her, and that’s when these photos were taken.
I used the Slim Sayings stamps and coordinating Slim Card Dies for this page, along with a sentiment from the Flowers of Friendship stamp set. I also used Pattern Party Designer Series Paper. It made me so happy to use this pretty Host Reward DSP from last year’s Annual Catalog. I particularly love all the black and white patterns.
Since these photos are very busy, I kept the background fairly plain, using lots of neutrals and tone on tone. I also added some fun zig zag stitching with my sewing machine!
I stamped the words with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, so to ensure good coverage and a very dark black, I used my Stamparatus to stamp multiple times in the same place.
Final touches were some additional Stylish Shapes die-cuts and Matte Decorative Dots.
