WWYS Blended Seasons

By | August 27, 2018

Happy Monday!  I’m so excited, because I was asked to be part of the What Will You Stamp? Design Team!!!  This is my first post for that group, which has a new challenge featuring a different stamp set every Monday.  This week, the featured stamp set is Blended Seasons.

Blended Seasons is a special stamp set, along with the coordinating Stitched Seasons Framelits Dies, that Stampin’ Up! released for the month of August only.  Be sure to order it before the end of this month.

For more inspiration, click over to the WWYS blog site to see all the Design Team’s projects.  At that site, you can add your own project using this great stamp set for a chance to win.

For my project, I kept it clean and simple.  I stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Whisper White Cardstock and then had fun coloring with my Stampin’ Blends.  Well, it is called “Blended” Seasons, so the name just put me in the mood!  Also, it’s a perfect stamp set for coloring, no matter what method you choose (blends, watercolor pencils, regular markers, etc.)   I used Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody (new in the Holiday Catalog available 9/5/18!) and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I love how soft and pretty these colors blended together.

Tips:  When coloring with Stampin’ Blends, I like a lot of variety in the colors.  To achieve this, I try to go over lighter spaces only once and then use the Color Lifter Marker to lighten them up even more.  The more brush strokes you add to a particular area, the darker it will get.  Another tip is to color in small sections so the ink stays fairly wet.  This allows the colors to blend better.  Reactivating the ink by going over the colored sections with a lighter color also helps the blending process.  I prefer to start with the darker areas, and add lighter tones, but it’s really a personal preference.

Aren’t these framelits lovely?  I just love the layers and stitching.  I layered some Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper and Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper behind the smaller label for some added interest.  Then, it was just a matter of adding some final embellishments, like those adorable Blossom Elements.

Supplies used on my card:

Reminder:  There’s only a few days left of Bonus Days!  For every $50 you spend in August, receive a $5 coupon code in your email to redeem in September!

Hope to see your project linked to the WWYS? blog page.  This stamp set is so versatile.  I’d love to see what you come up with!

Have a wonderful and creative day.
