Lots to Love Boxes

Stampin’ Up! has some great products in the Occasions Catalog for Valentine’s Day.  One of my favorites is the Painted With Love Bundle on page 18, which includes the Sure Do Love You stamps, Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies, and Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.  They all coordinate to make gorgeous projects.  I especially love the box die cut used on my projects today.

These boxes are beautiful in real life.  The specialty paper includes gold foil with an impressionist design.  I absolutely love it!!!  To make each box, you’ll need to cut out two dies.  One goes right side up and the other goes upside down.  Keep this in mind when cutting because some of the papers are directional.  (I had to re-cut a few by mistake.)

Keeping with the gold theme, before assembling my boxes, I stamped and embossed the front with the heart leaf outline in gold.  Then, I used the coordinating heart die cut to create a window.  On the inside, I adhered a small piece of Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate.

The boxes are super easy to assemble.  I used Fast Fuse adhesive on the sides.  One tip (don’t know why I was half way through making these when this dawned on me!), place your adhesive on the inside edges of the side front, and fold those side pieces over the back section.  It looks a lot cleaner.

To decorate my boxes, I embossed a label in gold and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.  I also embossed two leaves for each box, some in coordinating cardstock and some in gold.

For some of the small hearts, I die cut the heart out of Gold Foil and then covered the whole die with Fast Fuse.  Afterwards, I covered the heart with Gold Glitter Flakes.  I had to use my fingers to push the flakes around and cover the whole heart, but it worked.  For the other hearts, I used the Heart Happiness stamp set to emboss with smaller hearts.

Finally, I added a some Love Mini Tinsel Trim to each box.  I wasn’t sure I would use this trim much, but now that I’ve got it, I’ve found a lot of uses for it and really love it!

While I filled my boxes with candy, Stampin’ Up! also has little Narrow White Note Cards & Envelopes that fit perfectly into the boxes.  I used them to create a couple gift card holders for Valentine’s.

Here’s the one for my daughter.  I attempted to decorate each card to coordinate with the gift card inside.  I used the flowers from the Heart Happiness stamp set for the background, and then colored them with Stampin’ Blends Markers.

And here’s the one for my son.

There’s a little hidden treasure in the Lots of Love Box Framelits.  It’s these small gift card dies!!!  To make the gift card holder, I cut some cardstock a little smaller than my card.  Then I used the gift card as a guide and drew light pencil marks on the outside edges.

To cut the dies, I secured the framelits with some old washi tape.  Be sure to face the tabs inward toward where the gift card will lay.  Place the long line of the die right on top of the pencil mark.

Here’s what my gift card holders look like after I removed the dies and washi tape!  I just slipped these inside my note cards!!!  Super cute.

Have a wonderful and creative day!
