#TGIFC484 — Color Challenge

By | August 2, 2024

Happy August Everyone! TGIF Challenges has a beautiful color challenge to start off the month, including Pretty In Pink, Melon Mambo, and Daffodil Delight. Those colors made me think of flowers and the Unbounded Beauty Suite Collection starting on page 52 of the Annual Catalog. It’s a suite that immediately caught my eye, but I haven’t used enough yet!

To jump start my project, I turned to page 22 of the Annual Catalog to get some inspiration from the card templates. This is a great resource! I used the first template on the left of the upper row. See if you recognize it.

I wanted to use multiple colors on my flowers, so I inked them up with one color and then used a Sponge Dauber to add another in the center. Then, I watercolored each flower with two colors of ink. I love how soft and pretty they turned out!

In the background, I used a couple Flowers of Beauty die-cuts that I blended with Melon Mambo and Pretty In Pink ink. Then, I cut a bunch of the small flowers from Melon Mambo Cardstock, which was super easy with the single die that cuts out eight in one pass. I folded them around the rounded end of a pen to give them some dimension before adhering them to my card.

The last touch was some strips of White Diagonal Trim to lay underneath my sentiment and a few In Color Shimmer Gems.

Be sure to check out all the designers projects on the TGIF Challenges Blog. Then, create one of your own and enter our challenge! I’d love to see what you come up with!
