#TGIFC220 Challenges — Sketch Challenge

By | July 12, 2019

Happy TGIF Friends! This week, the TGIF Challenge Blog has a great sketch that’s perfect for layering and florals!!!

I’m still obsessed with Pigment Sprinkles. They are so bright and beautiful. I particularly love how one color of sprinkles turns into multiple coordinating colors when mixed with water. Until now, I had only used Pigment Sprinkles for backgrounds. So I decided to venture out and use them as a coloring tool for this week’s challenge.

I started by embossing Floral Essence flowers in white on Shimmery White Cardstock and either punching them out with the coordinating Perennial Flower Punch or fussy cutting. I also used the Detailed Peacock Dies to cut out multiple leaves from Shimmery White Cardstock.

Next, I colored the flowers and leaves with Pigment Sprinkles. I used Melon Mambo sprinkles on the large flower, Mango Melody sprinkles on the punched flower, and Granny Apple Green sprinkles on the leaves. I simply poured a little in the center of the flower or bottom section of the leaf and then spritzed with water. It was that simple!

To break up the colors, I decided to make one solid flower, so I inked up the large pink flower with Melon Mambo, poured a few matching Pigment Sprinkles in the center of the stamp, and then lightly spritzed with water before stamping. It turned out so cool! After it dried, I stamped the center with Mango Melody ink and even used a Chalk Marker to add some cute dots in the center. (I got this idea from my sweet friend Patti Brunter, the person who originally introduced me to the world of Stampin’ Up!)

To finish up the card, I used the Leaf Punch to punch some leaves from Call Me Clover Cardstock, scored the leaves in the center and folded them. I also created a subtle background with the new Scripty Embossing Folder. (So elegant!) Finally, I added a sentiment using the Well Said stamp set and some pretty sequins!

Be sure to check out all the TGIF designers’ projects this week! I think this is going to be an amazing challenge.

Have a wonderful and creative day!
