Control Freaks - New Annual Catalog Sneak Peek!!!

Welcome to the May Control Freaks Blog Hop! This month, we are featuring sneak peeks of products from the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, which will be going live on June 3, 2020. Demonstrators have the opportunity to pre-order select items, and I just got my first shipment last week!!! I can’t wait to share these awesome new products with you!

One of my favorite new suites is Forever Greenery. It’s so peaceful and serene! It has a beautiful DistInktive stamp set called Forever Fern, with six leaf images, four versatile sentiments, and an awesome splatter. The suite also includes coordinating Forever Flourishing Die Cuts that cut out all the leaf images plus a few extras, and Greenery Embossing Folders (with two different designs!) But that’s not all! The Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper is gorgeous with its luscious tones of green including my favorite new 2020-2022 In Color — Just Jade. Additional coordinating products include Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper and a beautiful combo pack of ribbons.

This weekend, I played with the whole entire Forever Greenery Suite! I made the seven cards above, plus two more. So for today’s post, I’ll feature two of those cards, and over the course of the next week, I’ll share the rest. I had so much fun playing with the different products in this suite, as well as with different layouts and coloring techniques.

All of my cards feature Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. In fact, I used up all of the different pre-cut designs (except two) from the two 12″ x 12″ designs provided in the pack. (The pack includes three each of both designs.) Each laser-cut is gold on one side and white on the other.

For the two cards I’m featuring today, I used background laser-cuts (white side) emphasized by simple watercolored backgrounds underneath. On the one above, I watercolored the background with Soft Sea Foam and Shaded Spruce ink on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. The card above also showcases some Just Jade Cardstock and Just Jade 2020-2022 In Color 1/4″ Ribbon. While I don’t yet have Just Jade ink, I realized that a light watercolor wash of Shaded Spruce ink looks beautiful with Just Jade Cardstock! I stamped the images with Shaded Spruce ink and colored them with Old Olive and Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Write Markers. To complete my project, I added some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.

For the sentiments on both cards, I used another new product the Tasteful Labels Dies! This is another great product that is so versatile.

On the second card, I watercolored the background with Soft Sea Foam ink on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Then, I added some of that beautiful Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper, a background laser-cut, a Pear Pizzazz die cut using the Forever Flourishing Dies, a delicate laser-cut fern, and both ribbons from the Forever Greenery Combo Pack. That ribbon pack includes the pretty gold trim, which unravels to create those delicate strands, as well as the loosely woven ribbon, which I gathered by pulling a couple of the inside strands. (I got that idea from another demonstrator Michele Miller.) I attached the ribbon with Tear N Tape adhesive.
