#TGIFC198 Sketch Challenge

By | February 8, 2019

Hello and Happy Friday!

TGIF Challenges has a great sketch this week, which is perfect for wrapping up Valentine’s Day projects. In fact, if you’re not into Valentine’s Day, you could use the sketch for any occasion by simply changing the shape of the dies or punches. I love sketch challenges, because they are easy and simple.

I decided to make another Valentine’s Day card. Did you know that after Christmas, Valentine’s Day is the most popular day for sending cards? It’s true! So be sure to send some love!!!

I realized as I was writing this that I didn’t use one stamp on this card. (Gasp!) Instead it focuses on the pretty All My Love designer series paper and die cuts. However, I did use a little ink to add a some watercoloring. That counts, right?

My card features the Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies for the hearts and borders, the Well Written Framelits Dies for the word “love,” and the Rectangle Stitched Framelits for the multiple layers. Cut, assemble, done. Well, almost … I still needed to add a little bit of watercoloring. Still, it was easy peasy!!!

Watercoloring: I cut the background heart, smallest heart (under the Epoxy Heart), flower, and “love” out of Shimmery White Cardstock. Then, I used my Aqua Painter to wet the paper with clear water. After squeezing the lids of my Flirty Flamingo and Lovely Lipstick ink pads, I dipped my Aqua Painter in the ink pooled in the lids in order to watercolor the ombre design.

To cut out the smallest heart, I used the multiple heart outline die. There are all sorts of cute little hearts that are left over after using that die, so it seemed a shame to throw them away.

My favorite die in the entire Be Mine Stitched set is that swirly heart die! It’s so pretty for layering!!!

Supplies used on my card:

Hope you can join us this week at TGIF Challenges! I would love to see what you can create using this week’s sketch.

Have a wonderful and creative week!
