#TGIFC460 — Sale-A-Bration

By | February 16, 2024

Hello and welcome to my blog! It’s Friday, and that means a new TGIF Challenge. This week, our theme is Sale-A-Bration products. There are so many fantastic ones to choose from! I used two of my favorites: 1) the Flight & Airy 12″ x 12 Designer Series Paper (DSP) and 2) Heartfelt Hellos Cling Stamp Set. Both are available for free with qualifying purchases of $50 USD, while supplies last, through the end of February 2024.

I LOVE watercoloring, and the Flight & Airy DSP has loads of gorgeously painted watercolor images. They are perfect for layering or fussy cutting. On this card, I fussy cut the birds and then layered them over some watercolored Notes of Nature leaf die-cuts. So easy, yet so pretty!!!

Behind the birds, I added an Everyday Detail die-cut circle. By now, you’ve probably noticed that I’m pretty obsessed with these dies! I’ve been using them a lot because they add so much character to my projects. This time, I cut out the circle from Basic White Cardstock and then added a light watercolor wash with Lost Lagoon and Boho Blue ink. I also add some splatter with a dark Boho Blue Stampin’ Blend Marker.

Since I had my Notes of Nature Dies out, I decided to try a woven background using the cool edgelit die. I had originally cut a layer of Flight & Airy DSP measuring 6″ x 4″, which worked out well, because the edgelit die is exactly 6″ wide. That made it easy to use a ruler to line up the die with both sides of the DSP. Then, I used some repositionable tape to secure the die before running it through the Cut & Emboss Machine. Afterwards, I repeated the process two more times, slightly above the first cuts. When I was finished die-cutting, I trimmed the layer down to fit my card. Finally, I weaved the Gold Faux Leather Trim through the holes! Fun!!! (I used Mini Glue Dots to secure the ends underneath the layer.)

On the inside of the card, I used a few leftover elements. The Flight & Airy DSP is sooo pretty!

Wow! You have some serious fussy cutting skills! Love the look of this though…and the stitching is pure genius. I don’t have that die set but may try with a hole punch with some thread. As always, thanks for the inspiration, Tami…it’s truly over the top gorgeous
